Bu Bu Jing Xin Variety Show (Ruo Xi, 8th Ce Fujin, 14th Prince)

This is just the first so far, so I'll add the second on here because the second half is just a game that isn't all that interesting. This appearance on New Face (from November 9, 2011) was very Kenny Lin (Lin Geng Xin/14th Prince)-centric.

Hosts: So you're the youngest on set, right?
14: Yes...Well, I mean besides some of the kids...
H: Why the heck would you compare with children?!
14: Um...
H: Shi Shi (Ruo Xi) do you agree?
SS: Minmin is younger than you [by 5 years!]
H: You even forgot about your co-stars!
14: Well...well...Among the princes, I'm the youngest one. (On screen text: Refuses to give in)

Because only 14 was here this time as well as the 1.5 sister-in-laws (8th Ce Fujin and only half of Ruo Xi b/c though she loves 4th, 14 marries her in the end), they were missing a great part of the "Number Club" (Like "4th's group" vs. "8th's group"), so they brought out life-size cardboard cutouts of 4, 8, and 13.
14: Having 13's cardboard cutout right behind me is making me uneasy. (On screen: laser beams coming out of 13's eyes towards 14). 4 scares me a little too. 8's alright.

There were some fairly embarrassing photos of 14 back when he was in theater school, where he had posed with a girls' wig and pretended to be a girl for a photographer friend. This was the first time Shi Shi saw these pictures, and she thought they were hilarious. The hosts of the show then got 14 to pose with some props, including a wig, a traditional fold-out fan, and a pink cartoon bedsheet.

Switched over to a picture that 13 took of 14's room, zooming in on the cartoon stickers on his wall... Hosts teased him for having such a cute/child-like thing, and asked him why he has kids' stickers above his bed. 14 replies that, because he's usually away from home, being able to come back and have a home-y warm feeling is really nice.

14 also took a two-shot with the three-eyed alien from Toy Story. Yuan Hong (13th Prince) claims it to be 14's lucky charm, but he just made that up on the spot--it's really just a character that he likes. The hosts of the show gave him one as a present, and asked him why he liked that character. 14: "I don't know if you've seen this movie or not, but in the film, he's a big hero."

Hosts: Shi Shi, do you think he's matured now?
SS: He's definitely faking it. He's very much like a kid, usually. (T/N: not in a condescending way)
H: Is there a time where you feel that he's a little more mature, though?
SS: On set, particularly, he's very mature. The attitude he has while working is very diligent, and mature. When the show nears the end, 14 has more intense scenes, which 14 took very professionally. He even asked the staff to go buy him a drink, so that when he was acting (in the drunk scene, where he asks Ruo Xi who Emperor Kangxi was originally going to give the throne to) he would have a more natural drunkedness.

On the variety show, there was a giant board with the cast's faces on them, where the hosts would write a phrase that they all felt would describe the cast member. Shi Shi immediately proposed 正太, which is slang terms means something along the lines of "adorable little boy" with a very slight feminine quality to them (no beard or bulging muscles, etc.). Though Shi Shi claims it's more than just that--it's actually not 正太, but 鄭太. They're both pronounced "zheng4 tai4" but the character used for the second one is actually Kevin Cheng (8th Prince)'s last name. Shi Shi and the rest of the cast like to poke fun at the relationship that 8 and 14 have. So punny.

When asked which prince (4, 8, or 13), did he love the most he didn't have a direct answer. Instead, he answered that the love he has for each one is different. For 4, he looks up to him like a teacher, a senior in the business to really respect and learn from. For 8, it's more like the love between two very close brothers. And for 13, it's really just a weird-ass kind of love.

-----
See, I told you it was 14-centric! Here's the one part that I thought was interesting about Ruo Xi, though. When coming up with the phrase for Ruo Xi (like 14's 鄭太), the hosts put down 劉吃吃, which is another pun. What they wrote--Liu Chi Chi--is very close to her name, Liu Shi Shi. "Chi" in Chinese means "to eat," to show off just how much she likes to eat. They would always be making noodles on set, for some odd reason, and whenever 8 would post pictures of the noodles on weibo, she'd almost automatically respond, "Is there a portion for me?" Shi Shi explains that she really likes eating--that delicious things make her happy. :)

Whoo! This was a little longer than I thought...
